Perfect Pies

Today we were making pies for our master chef challenge. We were given the basic ingredients and were asked to bring a'secret' ingredient to add a bit interest to our creations....

One of Nick and Jacob's secret 'ingredients' was a piece of equipment...a pie dish.

Meg getting started with her pastry.

Gabby's team had some debating about what toppings to use.

Seth and Evie's secret ingredient was hot, hot, hot. Can you guess what it was?

Working with your cousin can be fun....

Presentation is worth taking your time over.

Cleaning up is very important.

Choosing ingredients can be tricky.

Herbs need chopping finely.

William is very thorough with his clean up.

Lily and Emily working well together.

More tidying.

Gabby's team won points for their cheffy presentation.

Still smiling!

This roast chicken dinner flavour of this pie won points for taste.

Rosa made a beautiful gluten free version of the pie.

Just look at those pies!!!

Did you guess it was tabasco?

Great work team.

One of our ovens was out of order so Barbara and Sonia came to the rescue and took the pies to the staff room oven....heros!!

William's pie looks good enough to eat...and I think he will.

Yum, some would say this is the best bit!!

Cooking with Mrs Bremner is the best!

Truffling Around

Today we made truffles in the workshop as part of our Masterchef Allen Centre Challenge.

Keeping a tidy work space is very important.

Working together is really important.

Points are given for fantastic presentation.

Sometimes it is really hard for the judges to work out who to award the points to!

Rosa and Emily made gluten free truffles.

Great job William and Fletcher.

A tidy area, good team work and some yummy looking truffles.

Evie, Ted and Seth went for a a snowman style truffle.

More well presented truffles; good work team.

Those certainly look good enough to eat.

A fun session, can't wait for the next one.
