Block Printing with Mrs Hunter

As part of our Turangawaewae inquiry we are making some kiwiana block prints to create a whole class artwork that we think will really reflect who we are and where we come from.

Here are our block prints piled up and ready to go.

We have everything ready: paints, rollers and of course washing up liquid to clean up afterwards!

Rosa, Meg and Sam get down to work.

William and Regan work out where to place their blocks.

William rolls red the paint onto his block.

Throughout this inquiry we are working on our Key Competency skills. In this lesson today we were 'Relating to Others': there was a lot of working together, taking turns and helping others.

The block print goes down onto the paper...

it needs to be nice and square on...

we push the roller over it firmly...

and hey presto! A perfect print! Good team work too.
